This Tutorial explains how to make the logo above in Illustrator 10.
  • Open Illustrator 10.
  • Click on File-New and hit OK.
  • Click on View-Show Grid.
  • Click on View-Snap To Grid.
  • Click on the Info Tab so you can see the X,Y coordintates when moving the cursor.
  • Click on the Ellipse Tool(you might have to hold the left mouse button down over the Rectangle tool in order for the Ellipse Tool to appear on the right).
  • Move the cursor to X:360 Y:540 and hold down alt while pressing left mouse button.
  • Click on the Selection Tool(Black Arrow).
  • Click on the Circle.
  • Choose width 200pt, height 200pt.
  • Click on the Fill Box.
  • Click on the Color Tab.
  • Choose a yellow-green color.
  • Click on the Stroke Box.
  • Choose None.
  • Click File-Save
  • Type logo_vid_v01.ai as the File name in the Save As Box.
  • So far your logo should look like this:
  • Go to the Windows Explorer and make a new copy of the file and name it logo_vid_v02.ai
  • Close the logo_vid_v01.ai file in Illustrator and open the new logo_vid_v02.ai file(this way you can go back to the logo_vid_v01.ai backup file if something goes wrong).
  • Click on the Selection Tool(Black Arrow)
  • Click on the Circle.
  • Click on the Pen Tool.
  • Move the cursor to X:540 Y:630 and click the left mouse button.
  • Move the cursor to X:369 Y:540 and click the left mouse button.
  • Move the cursor to X:540 Y:450 and click the left mouse button.
  • Click On Object-Path-Divide Objects Below
  • Click on the Direct Selection Tool(white arrow)
  • Move the cursor to X:440 Y:550 and click the left mouse button.
  • Click the Fill Box and Click None.
  • Click the Stroke Box and Click None.
  • Click File-Save.
  • Close the File.
  • So far your logo should look like this:
  • Go to the Windows Explorer and make a new copy of the file and name it logo_vid_v03.ai
  • Open the new logo_vid_v03.ai file(this way you can go back to the logo_vid_v02.ai backup file if something goes wrong).
  • Click on the Create New Layer Button.
  • Click on the Ellipse Tool.
  • Move the cursor to X:360 Y:540 and hold down alt while pressing left mouse button.
  • Choose width 160 pt height 160 pt.
  • Click on the Fill Box and click none.
  • Click on the Stroke Box and click none.
  • Click on the Path Type Tool(you might have to hold the left mouse button down over the Type Tool in order for the Path Type Tool to appear on the right).
  • Click the type of the top inner circle.
  • Type "eVidGames.com" without the quotes and hit Ctrl-Shift C to center.
  • Click on the Direct Selection Tool.
  • Double click the text and hit the right mouse button.
  • Choose Font-Arial-Bold.
  • Choose Size-18pt.
  • Click on the Type Tool Button.
  • Highlight an area in the center of the logo.
  • Type "Game Reviews & More" without quotes(hold down shift and hit enter for new lines.
  • Your finished logo should look like this:
